1 Overall Job Purpose
1.1 Responsible for assisting in offloading and bunkering operations, tank gauging and sample collection from cargo
and Slops tanks, dosing of chemicals in Slops, assist in ODME operations, pump room duties, routine maintenance
of marine equipment aiming to ensure that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently and economically.
2 Core Responsibilities
2.1 Assist with safe mooring and unmooring operations, cargo hose connection, bunker hose connection, monitoring
of offloading cargo and bunkering operations, collect samples during offload operations as per procedures,
safety standards, task risk assessment, toolbox instructions.
2.2 Assist in checking specification of loaded oil by gauging and sampling of the cargo and slop tanks.
2.3 Assist in checking FPSO integrity by checking soundings and gas levels inside tanks and void spaces.
2.4 Assist in reducing H2S levels in the slops by dosing Sodium Hypochlorite and Biocide in the Slop tanks as per
Cargo Supervisor instructions.
2.5 Assist Cargo technician and Supervisor in Crude Oil Wash, Tank-cleaning, venting, ODME operations by operating
and controlling equipment and systems at their location and by carrying out routine checks.
2.6 Maintain pump room in good state by carrying out daily rounds and routines, checking bilge level alarms and
carrying out housekeeping whenever required, following pump room entry procedures.
2.7 Contribute in completing PMs, CMs and lubrication by following Supervisor instructions and Planned
Maintenance system.
2.8 Control upkeep of equipment by carrying-out routine checks and maintenance as required.
2.9 Attend helideck operations in receiving helicopters on-board by carrying out tasks assigned by HLO (when
applicable and certified).
2.10 Communicate effectively with team and CCR.
2.11 Perform maintenance activities within limit of responsibility and training.
2.12 Perform mechanical isolation and de-isolation as directed, according to isolation procedure.
2.13 Assist HSE Technician to check the marine working area to confirm it free of hazards as per permit or procedure.
2.14 Operate under PTW and Isolation Certificates and conduct toolbox talks.
2.15 Ensure that any oil spills are identified, halted where possible, and reported according to policy, procedure and
regulation.
2.16 Deal with equipment, waste or other materials for disposal according to the correct procedure.
2.17 Perform the following tasks but not limited to the following activities: open/close valves as directed for offloading
line up in pump room and main deck, COW/Water washing line up, IGS line up and so on.
2.18 Demonstrate ownership of own training requirements and proactively arrange training to be done/renewed in
time as per MODEC Integrated Management System.

6.4 Actively participate and/or contribute toward defect elimination/system ownership focus groups, with a view to
provide onshore teams with first-hand knowledge of the offshore facility.

maintenance.
6.6 Have good knowledge of safety requirements including work permit systems, operational and emergency
procedures, company policy and instructions.
7 Qualifications & Experience
7.1 Educational Qualification:
High School Degree – Mandatory.
Technical School Degree – Expected.
7.2 Certifications:
Technical Degree certification or STCW III/5 (able seafarer engine)
7.3 Trainings: Complies with the Training Matrix and Regulatory and Required by Modec Training Management
Procedure, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
7.4 Relevant Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ operating experience on an FPSO, oil tankers or similar facility. Has detailed knowledge of
tanker operations including crude oil washing, inert gas system and marine safety systems.
-Previous experience on an FPSP preferred.
7.5 Languages:
English Fluent - Mandatory.
French Basic – Expected.
7.6 Software:
Intermediate Level: Office package (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project).
Knowledge of Computerized Planned Maintenance System as AMOS / MAXIMO / SAP / PROP etc.
8 Working Conditions
