1 Overall Job Purpose

1.1 Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all Engine Room equipment and systems by proactively providing first line maintenance and keeping high standards of services ensuring that activities are performed as per Integrated Management System (IMS).

2 Core Responsibilities

2.1 Supervise when the Boiler and Utility Operators and trainees carrying out maintenance activity, directing and working closely with them.

2.2 Perform regular rounds, check areas of machinery and all equipment of Engine Room, main deck, topsides, repair any defects and report (Root Cause Analysis) when required.

2.3 Contribute with the perfect functioning of engine room, reporting deficiencies and malfunctioning, discussing and analyzing technical and spares issues with the Maintenance Superintendent as well as proposing solutions for the weak points using the technical knowledge and experience.

2.4 Ensure that accurate logs are kept in Engine Room, performing time to time cross check of the sounding log and ER logs as well.

2.5 Ensure compliance with MODEC Permit to Work system, isolation standard being aware about latest revision of PTW and act as originator of PTW for the task performed by Engine Room team.

2.6 Ensure that high standard of housekeeping is present in ER, performing the area inspection and direct the subordinates to act when required.

2.7 Ensure that OIL RECORD BOOK is filled up timely and according to instruction which is included into the Oil record Book. If in doubt, ask your Superintendent to assist.

2.8 Assure the properly follow up for the Maintenance Plan, checking if that all work orders are filled up properly into SAP.

2.9 Assist to Planner and Maintenance Supt to review the Maintenance plan providing inputs for the plan base of technical knowledge and experience.

2.10 Ensure that bunker operation is act properly by Engine Room team in accordance to Bunker procedure. To be ensure that all relevant check list are updated.

2.11 Ensure that all Cargo Operations (Offloading as example) are executed correctly, through the closely monitoring and support to the Marine team.

2.12 Contribute in emergency situations, naming role of Emergency Response Team, taking part in all drills and exercises and coaching the team members when improvement point noticed.

2.13 To follow up the MIMS system, all CAPA’S assigned to ER Supervisor to be act promptly, assist with NOI investigation.

2.14 Demonstrate ownership of own training requirements and proactively arrange training to be done/renewed in time as per MODEC Integrated Management System.

2.15 Effectively works on local personnel development plan as per management guidance.

6.1 Monitors subordinate’s performance and provide frequent feedback to them. Need pay attention when constructive feedback is being provided due to fact that most of the people don’t accept it.

6.2 Deal with all Operations and Maintenance demands during process plant upsets and shutdowns, due to the reduced number of electricians onboard.

7 Qualifications & Experience

7.1 Educational Qualification:

High School Degree - Mandatory.

Technical School Degree – Expected.

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering – Expected.

7.2 Certifications:

-Technical certificates.

-Certificate to satisfy Class and Flag requirements.

7.3 Trainings: Complies with the Training Matrix and Regulatory and Required by Modec Training Management Procedure, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).

7.4 Relevant Experience:

Previous FPSO experience or as 2/E on the Oil / Chemical tanker

Minimum experience of 3 years on offshore Process Operations / experience Offshore oil and gas / FPSO experience during Operations Phase and 3 years with team leading role.

Experience on Permit-to-work system, isolations system and risk assessments.
